Philip Lilienthal, Chief Executive Officer
Phil Lilienthal is the founder of Global Camps Africa. He has been involved in camping all his life. From 1974 to 2003 he was the owner and operator of Camp Winnebago, a boys camp in Maine founded in 1919. Before that he was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ethiopia, where he started Ethiopia's first residential summer camp program and was a camp counselor at a Fresh Air Fund Camp and at Camp Winnebago. He served on the Peace Corps staff in Washington, DC, the Philippines, and Thailand. Lilienthal is an attorney and lives in Reston, Virginia where Global Camps Africa offices are headquartered. Jean Van Devanter White, Virtual World Bureau Chief

White joined Global Camps Africa in August, 2006. Prior to joining GCA White was executive director of the Fairfax County Park Foundation. From 1982 to 2004 White was public affairs director for Fairfax County, Virginia. She is the recipient of numerous state, national and international awards and served as president of state and national communications associations. White is a member of the board of the Main Street Child Development Center, the Medical Care for Children Partnership, the Salvation Army of Fairfax and the Fairfax County Park Foundation. Aside from raising support for Global Camps Africa, she has been a camp counselor and swimming instructor at Camp Sizanani.
