| Two Poems Written at the June 2007 Camp Sizanani Session |
|
Below are two poems written at the June 2007 Camp Sizanani Session. The first is from a camper, the second is from a Vochelli (camp counselor)
'Our Beautiful Vochellis' by Camper Sizeni You lifted us up so we can stand on mountains You were our sisters, brothers, mothers and most of all You gave us a shoulder to cry on You guys have played a very big role in our lives 'Camper' by Sizanani Vochelli Sizakele Phohleli I wanted to share with you what someone once shared with me I became so transparent you could see through me Never thought I could see you cry For I myself have been hurt, disappointed, challenged and I held on to you camper Never thought I was worthy enough to step or even breathe in your midst yet I did. How fortunate of me that you saw in me a mother, a friend and a sister. You have welcomed/accommodated me in the home of your hearts. It doesn’t matter how many times you fall, all that matters is that you are still standing tall irrespective of those falls. |
